Angela E. Batista, Ed.D., “The Transformation by Design Coach” is an internationally recognized executive coach, speaker, author, and leadership and organizational development strategist. She founded Transformation by Design (TBD), a consulting and coaching firm launched in 2020 to help individuals, teams, and organizations lead with purpose, navigate change, and create lasting impact. Angela works across industries, partnering with clients from higher education, healthcare, corporate, and nonprofit sectors to help leaders and organizations at all stages of their growth and transformation journey.

Through her proprietary Leadership & Transformation by Design Blueprint© (LTBD), Angela equips leaders with the tools to cultivate intentional, values-driven environments and sustainable strategies that enhance culture, collaboration, and performance. Her work emphasizes building leadership capacity, facilitating strategy development, and supporting organizational alignment during times of complexity, transition, or reinvention.

Angela is a certified executive and strategic design coach trained by the Academy of Creative Coaching (ICF-accredited). She brings decades of real-world experience to her practice, having served in several senior leadership roles, where she led large-scale transformation initiatives in K–12 and higher education institutions. As a former therapist, educator, and seasoned facilitator, she deeply understands human dynamics and institutional systems.

Angela has been recognized both nationally and internationally for her leadership. She was named a NASPA Pillar of the Profession and served as the Board Chair of NASPA (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education) during the critical COVID-19 pandemic. She is also the lead editor of Latinx/a/os in Higher Education: Exploring Identity, Pathways, and Success. Angela is well-known for blending personal narrative with strategic expertise in her writing and speaking.

Originally from the Dominican Republic and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Angela is a first-generation college graduate who helps others transform their lives and organizations with intention and heart. She holds a doctorate in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a master’s degree from the University of Vermont, and a bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College. Additionally, she has earned certifications in Appreciative Inquiry, Gestalt Leadership and Organizational Change, and Diversity and Inclusion.
