TBD Team Retreat Development and Facilitation

A customized team development process that uses discovery, strategic design, and facilitation to help teams reflect, align, and move important work forward.

At TBD, we do not usually approach retreats as one-time events. In most cases, teams need more than a single session to do meaningful work well. Whether a team is clarifying vision, navigating change, rebuilding trust, strengthening collaboration, or preparing for a new phase of work, real progress takes more than one day. It takes time for discovery, reflection, shared learning, and follow-through.

That is why our retreat work is designed as a collaborative process.

We begin by learning about the team, the context, and what is happening beneath the surface. Through conversations with the team leader and selected team members, we identify the current state, clarify key questions and pressure points, and determine the type of support most needed. From there, we collaboratively design the pre-retreat, during-retreat, and post-retreat experience so the work is grounded in the team’s real needs and more likely to lead to meaningful progress.

This approach helps ensure the retreat is not only engaging in the moment but also useful, relevant, and connected to what the team needs most.

Not every team needs a retreat. Most teams need a process. We design retreats as part of a larger team development experience so the work is grounded, useful, and more likely to last.

  2. Determination of pre-retreat readiness and resources

  3. Design of retreat experience and agenda

  2. Identifiable retreat outcomes

  3. Flexible and agile approach during facilitation

4

Extend

We help the team carry the work forward through debrief, recommendations, and follow-up support.

  2. Recommendations for continued leadership and team development

  3. Additional learning and/or coaching as determined collaboratively
